Hey Bandit. Was reviewing some posts and saw you also had a rear control arm fail. My '99 had the control arm fail back in about 2005 or 2006. On mine it was the passenger side, and rust was not the issue... the control arm was super clean.

I bought my car in 2003 and after a year or so, I was having a tough time trying to track down a squeak in that corner. Turned out it was the control arm fatiguing. On inspection, you could not see the crack, but after it failed, it looked to me that someone might have hit something with the leading edge, putting a small nick low on the arm... but it created a crack on the top, which circled the ball joint and finally failed.

I just replaced the arm and ball joint with a junk yard arm. The other side didn't have any cracks and still seems fine today.

Sorry to hear you had the same problem, but I just wanted to let you know you were not alone.

Hi Bandit, I was searching the 1992-1999 forum and ran across your dash swap and AL7 seat swap but the links given were dead, do you have working links with pictures?
    Thank you!

Hi there, i just read the write up u did for the 92- 96 headlight swap but coudln't see any of the pictures. I was wondering if you send link to them because after reading your write up i realized that i can use those lights to finally finish my retro fit project that i put on hold a while ago. (see https://www.gmforum.com/t272597/ ). The only thing that was holding me back from finishing the project was getting clear lenses for a 94', but if i can get this mod to work then i can get the projectors to fit properly.

    Thanks
    Ashton.

    Hi Bandit,

I just ran across your thread about swapping out 92-95 headlights with 96-99 headlights, but can't see any of the pictures or the write-up that is discussed in the thread. I have been thinking about doing a grille and headlight swap, and agree that those headlights along with the grille look a lot better. Is there any way that I could see those pics and the write-up? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Darren
